Tata Electronics signs five partnerships at Semicon India 2026
The partnerships with Sumitomo Chemical, Kelington, Enomoto, Sojitz Corporation & NRS CORPORATION, and L&T Semiconductor are expected to strengthen semiconductor supply chain, materials ecosystem, operational readiness, and packaging capabilities across India.
Tata Electronics has signed five strategic partnerships with Sumitomo Chemical, Kelington, Enomoto, Sojitz Corporation & NRS CORPORATION, and L&T Semiconductor, at SEMICON India 2026.
The company's MoU With Japan-based Sumitomo Chemical is expected to strengthen India's semiconductor materials ecosystem through the supply of high-quality semiconductor materials and exploration of local manufacturing of high-purity chemicals in India, Tata Electronics said in a release.
The collaboration will see Sumitomo supplying semiconductor materials, including photoresists, functional chemicals, and high-purity chemicals, such as hydrogen peroxide, isopropyl alcohol, ammonia water, and sulfuric acid, to Tata Electronics’ upcoming Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. In addition, Tata Electronics will support Sumitomo Chemical in exploring the manufacture of semiconductor materials and high-purity chemicals in India.
Tata Electronics will collaborate with Kellington, a Malaysian integrated engineering solutions provider, to accelerate the operational readiness of Tata Electronics' fab in Dholera, Gujarat through the deployment of critical infrastructure, systems integration, and engineering capabilities. The partnership will also explore the development of local talent and advanced design and build engineering capabilities in India.
The alliance reflects the shared commitment of both companies to supporting India’s growing semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and will be a key enabler to the timely execution of the Dholera fab project, a statement said.
With Japan-based Enmoto, Tata Electronics will strengthen India's semiconductor packaging ecosystem by supporting packaging readiness at the Jagiroad facility in Assam and explore localisation of lead frame manufacturing. strengthening the domestic supply chain for a critical semiconductor packaging component. The partnership will assess opportunities for technology transfer, engineering collaboration, and capability development, supporting the creation of an integrated and resilient semiconductor value chain in India.
Tata Electronics is building India’s first indigenous high-volume packaging facility in Jagiroad, Assam, at an investment of $3 billion.
Meanwhile, Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION will collaborate on the development of a semiconductor materials supply chain to support Tata Electronics’ upcoming foundry in Dholera, Gujarat. The partnership supports the Government of India’s vision of developing a strong semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in the country, according to a release.
The alliance with L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited aims to build indigenous design and manufacturing capabilities to support next-generation products across automotive, industrial, communications, security and intelligent-edge sectors.
The partnership brings together L&T Semiconductor’s fabless design innovation with Tata Electronics’ semiconductor packaging and foundry capabilities to advance domestic chip manufacturing. Both the companies will jointly explore chip fabrication and packaging opportunities for L&T Semiconductor’s current and future products across Tata Electronics’ range of fab process technologies and packaging solutions. The collaboration will also include chip design to fabrication optimisations with a focus on ensuring efficient manufacturing at scale.
