NVIDIA invests $2B in Nebius to build large-scale AI cloud infra
The collaboration combines NVIDIA’s AI chips and software with Nebius’ cloud infrastructure to expand computing capacity for training and running increasingly complex AI models.
NVIDIA and Nebius have launched a partnership that aims to reshape how the cloud powers artificial intelligence (AI), with both firms promising faster, cheaper access to the vast computing needed for the next wave of AI.
The deal pairs deep hardware know-how with a cloud operator that says it was built specifically for AI, and it could accelerate the rollout of enormous data centres that train and run advanced models.
NVIDIA will invest $2 billion in Nebius Group to help the Amsterdam-based cloud provider deploy more than five gigawatts of AI compute capacity by the end of 2030.
The partnership covers technical collaboration across the so-called full stack: the hardware, the data-centre design, fleet management and the software needed to run inference and what companies now call agentic AI.
“Nebius is building an AI cloud designed for the agentic era, fully integrated from silicon to software and powered by NVIDIA’s next-generation accelerated compute,” said Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “Together, we are scaling the cloud to meet the surging global demand for intelligence.”
Nebius is a restructured successor to parts of Yandex’s non-Russian operations and has moved rapidly into the market for AI infrastructure, securing large contracts and expanding capital spending. Its public listing and recent deals have drawn investor attention in some quarters.
“Nebius has been built for AI since day one - not adapted from a general-purpose cloud but designed for what developers actually need. Now with NVIDIA we are extending that throughout the stack from gigawatt-scale AI factories to inference and software as we build one of the first and largest clouds for all AI builders everywhere,” Arkady Volozh, CEO of Nebius, said.
Nvidia’s investment follows similar moves by the chipmaker to partner with cloud providers that will buy and run large numbers of its GPUs.
Earlier this week, NVIDIA and Thinking Machines Lab announced a long-term strategic partnership to deploy a massive computing infrastructure focused on the next generation of AI.
