Ola Krutrim sees three senior leadership exits, layoffs in lingusitics team: Report
The executives who have left the company include John Williamson, Senior Director; Dinesh Mittal, Head of Engineering; and Sharath Adavanne, Director of Applied AI.
Three senior executives from Ola Krutrim's engineering and AI product team have left, reports The Economic Times.
The executives who have exited the firm include John Williamson, Senior Director; Dinesh Mittal, Head of Engineering; and Sharath Adavanne, Director of Applied AI, added the report, citing sources aware of the situation.
In a separate development, Krutrim also laid off over a dozen employees from its linguist teams across various languages earlier this week. However, a person familiar with the matter told ET that the affected roles were project-based and the specific assignment had been completed.
The firm currently employs around 600 people in its linguistics division, which focuses on AI model evaluation, linguistic data curation, and prompt engineering.
Krutrim on Friday stated that it has also acquired BharatSah’AI’yak, an AI-driven platform developed by Samagra, known for its work on government-facing solutions in education, agriculture, and governance.
With this acquisition, the AI firm plans to integrate BharatSah’AI’yak into its large language models (LLMs), cloud infrastructure, and agentic platform Kruti, its newly launched AI assistant app. It is capable of performing end-to-end tasks such as booking cabs, ordering food, paying bills, generating images, and conducting research.
As part of the deal, Krutrim has onboarded Samagra’s core AI team. The company added that the platform will primarily be integrated into Krutrim Cloud and its agentic AI ecosystem to build solutions for various government and civic applications.
