Akash Gehani

Akash is the COO and co-founder of Instamojo, India's largest on-demand payments platform that allows anyone with a mobile number and bank account to start an online business. Akash co-founded Instamojo with Sampad Swain, Aditya Sengupta and Harshad Sharma in 2012. A mumbaikar at heart, Akash now lives in Bengaluru, the IT hub of India. He has worked in various roles ranging from Engineering to Sales and Marketing in startups and large companies. He has an MBA from MDI in finance and marketing. Akash is enthusiastic about building great teams and believes that great leadership is about creating more leaders. He hopes to build education and mutual respect in people so they can achieve their goals and in turn build a better India. He loves a good challenge and likes to shake things up. In his free time, Akash likes reading and traveling. He’s also a football aficionado. With more than 400,000 registered merchants, Instamojo's vision is to democratise e- commerce and be the 360o digital-enabling partner for SMEs of all shapes & sizes. Instamojo was one of the first startups from India to join the prestigious 500 Startups Silicon Valley Accelerator Program. It has also been featured as one of the hottest startups by Economic Times in 2015.
