Amit Sharma is General Partner at Cactus Venture Partners, an early growth stage venture firm investing in technology and consumer start-up. Amit has over 14 years of experience working in financial services and venture capital. Prior to Cactus Venture Partners, he was founding member of eWTP Arabia Capital - a MENA-focused venture capital fund backed by marquee investors such as PIF and eWTP Capital. He also led India investments for eWTP Capital – a venture capital fund backed by Alibaba Group. Amit is also founding member of Ganesh Ventures – a small venture capital fund backed by China-based investors focused on Indian market. His expertise include deal sourcing, investment analysis, strategic evaluation, transaction negotiations, structuring, legal documentation and post-investment management.
He started his career with J.P. Morgan equity research team and worked with the firm for about 9 years covering a number of sectors including India IT Services, Telecom and Internet. He led strategic investments for Xiaomi India for a short duration after J.P. Morgan. He also led valuation practice of EY for a brief period.
Amit is an MBA (Finance) from University Business School, Panjab University. He has also done a diploma in veterinary sciences.
Amit has one daughter and loves to read, spend time with his family and learn new things. He particularly enjoys talking to founders, learning about their vision and business models.
