Avinav Nigam is bridging the gap between skilled talent and high-impact international work opportunities. As the Founder and CEO of TERN Group, he leads an AI-powered recruitment platform focused on ethical, end-to-end global mobility—delivering faster, smarter, and more transparent migration pathways for skilled professionals.
TERN was born from Avinav’s firsthand experience navigating global talent challenges. His time working in Japan, Singapore and the UK exposed the acute skilled workforce shortages and complexities of relocation and migration. He built TERN on August 15, 2023, as a technology-first, candidate-centric platform that eliminates inefficiencies, accelerates hiring, and ensures ethical recruitment practices.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Avinav also serves as an advisor to the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India) on upskilling and ethical migration. There, he works closely with the government and other stakeholders to drive workforce development initiatives and strengthen employment pathways.
An alumnus of IIT Bombay, Avinav has a proven track record of scaling high-growth ventures across diverse sectors, including fintech, re-commerce, and digital marketplaces. He has played an instrumental role in scaling large C2B marketplace businesses, first as the CMO of Indian unicorn Cars24 and later as the Co-Founder and COO of IMMO. Under his leadership, IMMO, a C2B residential property marketplace, secured over $150 million in equity funding from Oak HC/FT and $2 billion in real estate investor capital. His 18-year career spans key roles at Disney+, PayU, and Procter & Gamble across Asia and India.
