Prasanna Kumar

Prasanna Kumar is the Founder of VilCart. A Chartered Accountant by profession, established VilCart in 2018 with the vision to create a rural-exclusive ecommerce company that ensures that the rural population receives access to the best-quality products at affordable prices. He believes that the future of India lies in its villages, and as of today, he has taken VilCart to over 2800 villages across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Prasanna received his CA certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and is also a rank holding Business Management graduate from Mysore University. Hailing from Mandya in Karnataka, he saw the village kirana store owners’ struggle to source even the daily necessities that they would try to procure weekly - losing an entire day's sales for just visiting the city to source goods. This experience helped him tap rural opportunities coupled with the best business practices and subsequently to start VilCart. VilCart is bridging the gap between rural consumers and the manufacturers primary market by building a strong pipeline that connects each village of India with a strong network. From sourcing products for rural kirana stores to handling logistics, and ensuring a consistent supply of products through its state-of-the-art supply chain network, VilCart ensures the availability of high-quality products at the best prices in every rural household. Prior to VilCart, Prasanna has worked as COO and CFO for a number of startups. He is also the founder of a Financial Consultancy that provided end-to-end advisory on Finance and Operational controls. In his free time Prasanna likes to read books. His thought process is highly influenced by Elon Musk and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, he believed that team efforts can work wonders and even the most difficult tasks could be accomplished.
