Arogya World follows a doorstep health model, which takes prevention to people where they live, learn and work. Their focus is scalable, science-based programs to reach a large population. These are deployed in schools, workplaces, and bringing information right to people’s phones. Their approach is gaining traction and working hard. They have reached 5 million people so far, and their goal is to reach 22 million by 2022. Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) prevention is at the core of all our work. We work mostly in India, which is particularly hard hit by NCDs – diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer and chronic lung diseases. They have shown proof of concept and are in aggressive scale-up mode. Their work is aligned with the Government of India’s priorities and they believe they can help India – and the world – meet the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal #3 (health and well-being for all.)
