Sparkle Innovations have developed affordable sanitary pads made from bamboo fibre, banana fibre and corn starch that biodegrade completely within six months of disposal. Their product Sparkle pads contain bamboo fibre that is naturally antibacterial and super-soft with bannana fibre that is absorbent core and effective at locking away menstrual fluid, corn-starch based bioplastic that serves as a compostable alternative to plastic. They aim to eliminate the waste generated by usual pads that contain plastic, artificial fragrances, chlorine bleaches, heavy metal dyes or other harmful chemicals.
