Wednesday July 12, 2023 , 2 min Read

Wipro, one of the leading Indian IT services company, will invest $1 billion in advancing artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities over the next three years. To harness the capabilities of AI technology, the company has launched the Wipro ai360 ecosystem.

According to the company, Wipro ai360 is a comprehensive, AI-first innovation ecosystem with the goal of integrating AI into every platform, tool, and solution used internally and offered to clients.

Wipro ai360 will bring together 30,000 experts in data analytics and AI with Wipro’s technology and advisory ecosystem from four global business lines. Capabilities across cloud and partnerships; data, analytics and AI; design and consulting; cybersecurity and engineering will be leveraged to develop solutions and embed AI into all processes and practices, said the company in a statement.

Wipro said it aims to unleash a new era of value, productivity, and commercial opportunities through the application of AI and generative AI.

“Artificial Intelligence is a fast-moving field. Especially with the emergence of generative AI, we expect a fundamental shift up ahead, for all industries. New business models, new ways of working, and new challenges, too," said Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte.

"This is exactly why Wipro’s ai360 ecosystem places responsible AI operations at the heart of all our AI work,” he added.

Wipro said the $1 billion investment will help advance its AI, data and analytics capabilities and foundation, R&D and platforms; enhance its FullStride Cloud services; and build new consulting capabilities to support clients in adapting to change and unlocking new value through AI.

The company said it will also accelerate investments in cutting-edge startups through Wipro Ventures. Additionally, it will launch a GenAI Seed Accelerator programme, which will provide select generative AI-focused startups with the training needed to become enterprise-ready.

Wipro will also train all its 2.5 lakh employees on AI fundamentals and responsible use of AI over the next 12 months. It will continue to provide more customised training for employees in AI-specialised roles, said the company.
