Thryve Digital Health CFO on delivering meaningful healthcare impact via GCC
In an email interaction with Enterprise Story, Thryve Digital Health chief financial officer Arvind Srinivasan talks about the GCC’s central role in ensuring efficient care delivery and patient outcomes.
The rapid expansion of the global capability centre (GCC) segment in India’s technology industry is also spurring growth for companies within industries like financial services, retail and healthcare.. One such entity reaping the benefits of the GCC boom is Thryve Digital, which is part of a US health insurance plan and hospital network with more than 4,000 employees located in Chennai and Hyderabad.
Since its establishment in 2016, Thryve Digital has been a core part of its parent company, instead of simply acting as a technology delivery centre. The GCC is deeply engaged in the development and modernisation of digital health applications as this has a direct bearing on patient outcomes and affordability of healthcare.
“We have evolved into more than a support function. We are a critical enabler of care delivery, efficiency, and innovation,” Thryve Digital Health Chief Financial Officer Arvind Srinivasan says.
In an email interaction with Enterprise Story, Srinivasan delves into the GCC’s role in supporting healthcare operations for its parent organisation, what sets healthcare GCCs apart from the others, and Thryve’s plans to leverage AI to maximise efficiency.
Edited excerpts:
Enterprise Story (ES): What sets Thryve Digital apart in the GCC space?
Arvind Srinivasan (AS): Thryve Digital is a purpose-built integrated healthcare capability Centre that serves as the dedicated global capability arm for one of the largest health plans and hospital networks in the United States. While many GCCs function as offshore delivery engines, Thryve is structurally and operationally different. We are deeply integrated into the core of our parent organisation: supporting clinical, operational, and digital transformation initiatives across the full healthcare value chain. Our work spans digital product development, claims management, care coordination, and AI-enabled health platforms. What sets us apart is our singular focus on healthcare.
We bring together technology, data, and deep domain expertise to help deliver more connected, personalised, and outcomes-driven healthcare. As a result, we have evolved into more than a support function. We are a critical enabler of care delivery, efficiency, and innovation. Our India operations, based out of Chennai and Hyderabad, contribute over 80 percent of our global delivery footprint and are core to our growth strategy and capability build-out.
ES: What are Thryve Digital’s core activities across the two centres in India?
AS: Our India centres are designed not for scale alone but for specialisation. Across our Chennai and Hyderabad campuses, we run end-to-end technology and operations for several of the most vital areas in healthcare delivery. These include Epic implementation and support, where we are among the very few organisations in India with such capabilities, claims adjudication and payment integrity, member and provider engagement platforms, and advanced data and analytics services.
Our teams are also deeply involved in the development and modernisation of digital health applications that enable proactive care management, especially in value-based care settings. These are business-critical functions that have a direct bearing on patient outcomes and healthcare affordability. Our Chennai campus, which recently expanded to accommodate over 500 additional associates, reflects this growing demand and our ongoing investment in domain-specific capability. We have also institutionalised a strong culture of innovation within these centres, with frameworks like "3i"(Ideation, Innovation, and Insights) driving both operational efficiency and solutioning excellence. Our India operations are truly where strategy meets execution.
ES: How is a healthcare GCC different from other GCCs?
AS: The distinction lies in the complexity of the domain and the level of trust and integration we have within the parent enterprise. Most GCCs are structured around horizontal functions such as IT services, shared operations, or analytics. A healthcare GCC, and particularly one like Thryve, is domain-specific and business-aligned. We are solving problems that sit at the heart of care delivery: closing care gaps, improving member journeys, reducing administrative friction, and embedding intelligence into the claims and clinical systems. This requires not only technological expertise but a working knowledge of clinical protocols, reimbursement models, regulatory compliance frameworks like HIPAA, and payer-provider dynamics.

The feedback loop is also much tighter; we see the impact of our work directly in the business outcomes, be it faster claims turnaround, improved care adherence, or better cost optimization. That is why our teams are composed of professionals who are not just skilled in tech but fluent in healthcare. It is also why we have built a hybrid model, keeping high-IP, business-sensitive work in-house while selectively partnering with external innovators. This gives us the ability to scale with focus while retaining strategic agility. By enabling frictionless data sharing, streamlining workflows, and enhancing patient engagement, we're fostering a system that's not only more efficient but also more humane. We're not just improving processes; we're empowering clinicians, engaging patients, and ultimately, building a healthier future for all.
ES: How is Thryve Digital attracting and retaining talent?
AS: We have been intentional about building an environment where people can see the purpose of their work and the potential of their careers. At Thryve, the work itself is a differentiator. Our teams contribute to platforms used by over 60% of the US population through Epic; they help clinicians make better decisions, support real-time patient care coordination, and drive innovation that directly improves lives. That sense of impact is powerful. But beyond that, we have invested significantly in structured development and inclusive culture-building. Programs like ThryvHers focus on empowering women in technology and leadership.
Our leadership development efforts are supported by partnerships with premier institutions like the Indian School of Business. Innovation is encouraged and recognized through our internal hackathons and our 3i framework, where even first-time contributors can have their ideas funded and scaled. And we back this up with competitive compensation, a strong focus on wellness, and a flexible, learning-friendly environment. As a result, we are able to retain top talent not through short-term incentives but through long-term opportunity. People who come here stay because they grow here.
And because we value individual contribution and employee learning, we sponsor the attendance of employees to represent Thryve at national and international industry conventions. By focusing on growth, opportunity, a vibrant culture, and access to cutting-edge technology, we're building a place where talented individuals can make a real difference in the world of healthcare – and build an amazing career along the way.
ES: What will be the future plans of Thryve Digital?
AS: As the future of healthcare becomes increasingly dependent on technology, we continue to explore and invest in innovations that can drive meaningful impact. Artificial Intelligence, in particular, holds significant potential to transform healthcare delivery. We are committed to leveraging AI to enable smarter, more efficient and patient-centric solutions.
Looking ahead, our focus will be on deepening our alignment with patient care goals, especially through supporting value-based care strategies. By strengthening our technology capabilities and healthcare expertise, we aim to contribute actively to building a more connected and outcomes-driven healthcare system.
