Rolls-Royce opens new GCC in Bengaluru
The new GCC for Rolls-Royce will be part of the company’s global digital capabilities and enterprise services team.
Rolls-Royce expanded its India operations with the opening of a new global capability centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. This facility will be the largest such unit in the country.
This GCC facility will house part of Rolls-Royce’s global digital capabilities and enterprise services team, alongside engineering teams supporting civil aerospace and defence businesses.
The centre is positioned to become the largest capability hub for the company and will support key global corporate functions across its civil, defence and power systems businesses, while also advancing digital and engineering expertise. This is in addition to the company’s plans to double its sourcing from India over the next five years, accelerating the integration of Indian suppliers into its global supply chain.

Rolls-Royce has been present in the country for 90 years and has an employee strength of more than 3,000, of which 2,000 are engineers. Today, over 1,400 Rolls-Royce engines are deployed by the Indian armed forces.
Karnataka Large & Medium Industries Minister M B Patil, who inaugurated the centre, said, “Bengaluru ranks among the world’s top three aerospace cities for attracting foreign investments. Our state hosts companies with strengths across the entire aerospace and defence value chain.”
The minister emphasised that Karnataka has consistently promoted investment in aerospace and defence through forward-looking policies, infrastructure development, and ease-of-doing-business measures.
At the opening of the new centre, Rolls-Royce Chief Financial Officer Helen McCabe said, “India is significant to Rolls-Royce’s global journey of innovation and progress. This newly expanded Global Capability and Innovation Centre reaffirms our commitment to India and will be our largest capability hub.”
“As we expand our footprint, our focus remains steadfast on building a future-ready ecosystem, where we can co-create solutions with our teams and partners and deliver greater value for customers in India and worldwide,” she said.
Rolls-Royce said it is undergoing a multi-year transformation to become a high-performing, competitive, resilient, and growing business, which also includes growing its business in India.
