Snowflake unveils new platforms for agentic AI apps
The new product innovations from Snowflake are expected to accelerate the development of enterprise-grade agentic AI apps.
Snowflake, the AI data cloud company, has introduced several product innovations to accelerate the development of enterprise-grade agentic AI apps.
The new enhancements include the general availability of Snowflake Intelligence, an enterprise intelligence agent that provides users with the ability to answer complex questions in natural language. Besides the advancements to Snowflake Openflow and Snowflake Horizon Catalog, Snowflake said enterprises can derive data insights from disparate sources and catalogues to power agentic AI.
Snowflake also announced a suite of enhanced AI-native and collaboration tools enabling developers to build, test, and deploy enterprise-ready AI apps faster and reduce overhead and total cost of ownership.
Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product - Snowflake, said, “Our latest enhancements to the Snowflake platform make this possible, democratising the power of AI so every employee can make smarter and faster decisions, fundamentally changing how our customers will innovate for years to come.”
According to Snowflake, the era of agentic AI is already underway, with 20% of organisations actively deploying agents today and another 54% planning to deploy within the next 12 months. This exponential growth has only intensified the pressure on data engineering teams to rapidly manage the vast volumes and types of data that power AI.
Snowflake wants to address these challenges by providing AI-native developer tools. The Cortex Code, a refreshed AI assistant within the Snowflake UI, lets users interact with their entire Snowflake environment using natural language. To ensure the quality and security of data, the new enhancement by Snowflake allows developers to assess how accurate and trustworthy the data is and automatically generate a summary for increased insights.
According to Snowflake, Cortex Code helps users easily understand their Snowflake usage, optimise complex queries, and fine-tune their results to maximise cost savings.
Snowflake Intelligence can facilitate deep research and suggest solutions for a single question, which is provided as conversational insights, the statement noted.
Snowflake has also entered into a collaboration with SAP. This partnership will make Snowflake’s data & AI platform available as a SAP solution extension for SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) customers. This potentially will help enterprises get richer insights, build enterprise-grade intelligent applications and unlock AI-powered innovation.
