AMD, TCS expand partnership to build AI data-centre infrastructure in India
AMD and Tata Consultancy Services have expanded their partnership to develop large-scale AI infrastructure in India. The collaboration will focus on rolling out new data-centre systems in India to support enterprises, AI firms, and large-scale deployments across sectors.
Chipmaker AMD is expanding its India strategy through a deeper partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as the two companies work to roll out new AI data-centre technology in the country. The move comes as global firms compete to build infrastructure in one of the fastest-growing artificial intelligence markets.
Under the agreement, AMD and TCS will jointly develop a rack-scale AI infrastructure design based on AMD’s “Helios” platform, aimed at large enterprises and sovereign AI projects. TCS will deploy the technology through its subsidiary HyperVault AI Data Center Limited.
The collaboration includes plans for AI-ready data centres that can scale up to 200 megawatts of capacity. The announcement was made as the AI Impact Summit opened in New Delhi.
The companies said the platform is built to support high-performance AI training and inference workloads for hyperscalers, AI firms, and large enterprises. AMD will provide its AI compute platform, while TCS will handle engineering, integration, and deployment.
The partnership is also aligned with India’s push to build domestic AI infrastructure rather than rely on overseas systems.
AMD CEO Lisa Su said demand for AI is shifting from pilot projects to large-scale deployments, requiring new computing infrastructure. TCS CEO K Krithivasan said the collaboration lays the foundation for the company’s first Helios-powered AI infrastructure in India.
TCS set up HyperVault in 2025 to deliver large-scale, secure AI infrastructure for enterprises and AI companies. The expanded partnership builds on earlier work between the two firms to help businesses scale AI adoption and modernise technology environments, as chipmakers compete for a bigger share of India’s growing AI market.
