LPL Financial sets up GCC in Hyderabad
LPL Financial's GCC will be engaged across technology, operations, product development, data and analytics and risk management functions.
LPL Financial, a US-headquartered wealth management firm, has announced the opening of its global capability centre in Hyderabad and the appointment of Ramesh Kaza as head of the new operation.
According to a statement from LPL Financial, Hyderabad was selected for its deep talent pool in financial services, strong infrastructure and business continuity advantages. Over the next three to five years, LPL expects to create hundreds of roles in the city to support technology, operations, product development, data and analytics and risk management.
LPL Financial supports more than 32,000 financial advisors and the wealth management practices of about 1,200 financial institutions, managing $2.4 trillion on behalf of roughly 8 million people. The firm provides a wide range of advisor affiliation models, investment solutions, fintech tools and practice management services.
“The LPL Financial Global Capability Center will leverage the impressive talent in Hyderabad, enabling us to build integrated teams focused on creating next-gen technology that sets a new standard in financial services,” said Greg Gates, chief technology and information officer for LPL Financial.
The India head of LPL’s GCC, Kaza, was most recently the chief information officer at State Street India. Prior to State Street, he spent nearly 16 years at Bank of America overseeing major governance and tech operations, including global delivery head, enterprise chief information officer and global delivery infrastructure head. He also has work experience at Fidelity Investments and GE Capital.
“Innovation is the cornerstone of the firm’s strategy, and the LPL Financial Global Capability Center in Hyderabad will unlock more ways for the company to grow,” Kaza said.
