Autodesk revamps India Store, targets startups and SMBs with self-serve digital platform
Startups, freelancers and emerging businesses now account for more than 50% of its first-time customers in India for Autodesk
Software design and engineering solutions provider Autodesk has revamped its online store in India to turn it into a fully self-serve procurement platform aimed at startups, freelancers and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
A statement from Autodesk said the move reflects the company’s growing focus on a digital-first go-to-market strategy and seeks to simplify how customers discover, purchase and manage Autodesk’s Design and Make solutions.
The company said the redesigned platform is intended to make professional-grade design technology more accessible to India’s expanding creator economy. According to Autodesk, startups, freelancers and emerging businesses now account for more than 50 per cent of its first-time customers in India, highlighting the growing preference for digital procurement among entrepreneurs and independent professionals.
Autodesk noted that India’s digital ecosystem continues to expand rapidly, with nearly 958 million active internet users. The company believes this growth is reshaping purchasing behaviour, prompting customers to expect seamless online access to professional software tools. The trend is also spreading beyond metropolitan regions, with Tier-II and Tier-III cities contributing more than 20 per cent of Autodesk’s online customer base.
Kamolika Gupta Peres, Vice President, Autodesk India and SAARC, said the company has redesigned the platform based on customer insights gathered over the past year. She added that the goal is to provide a more intuitive, inclusive and locally relevant experience for businesses and professionals across the country.
The enhanced store offers more than 60 Autodesk products and supports multiple payment options, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards and net banking. Customers can also opt for monthly subscriptions, with AutoCAD Web plans starting at Rs 1,062 per month. In addition, Autodesk Flex, a pay-per-use token-based model, is available through the India Store, allowing teams to purchase usage tokens that can be shared across users and selected products.
The platform also enables customers to generate quotes, manage renewals, complete multi-product purchases and handle GST compliance independently, eliminating the need for sales callbacks and streamlining the entire procurement process.
