Infosys net profit rises 12%; Ashiss Kumar Dash named next CEO
Infosys delivers strong Q1 performance with 14% revenue growth and robust AI momentum, but trims FY27 guidance amid macro uncertainty.
Infosys, India’s second-largest technology services exporter, reported a 12.2% year-on-year rise in net profit for the first quarter of FY27. The company also announced that Ashiss Kumar Dash will take over as CEO from Salil Parekh in April next year.
Infosys posted a net profit of Rs 7,769 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 6,921 crore in the same period last year. Revenue rose 14% year-on-year to Rs 48,211 crore during the quarter.
Despite the strong quarterly performance, the company marginally lowered its FY27 revenue growth guidance to 1.5-3%, compared with the earlier range of 1.5-3.5%.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh attributed the revision to continued uncertainty in the macroeconomic environment.

In addition, the company also faced challenges from a specific client and in the volume of business.
However, Infosys remained confident about its future outlook, highlighting large deal wins worth $3.6 billion, of which 61% were net new deals. The company also pointed to strong traction for its artificial intelligence (AI) services.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said, “AI momentum is now rapidly converting into revenue, which demonstrates how Infosys’ differentiated enterprise AI value proposition is translating into consistent market share gains. Strong large deal wins, powered by Infosys Topaz, reinforce client confidence in our ability to be the strategic partner of choice for AI transformation driving tangible business value.”
The company said AI services now accounts for 8% of its total revenues and this has risen from 5.5% in the third quarter of FY26.

Parekh said AI services are recording double-digit growth and that the pipeline for such deals continues to remain strong. However, he added that there could be some ups and downs in AI revenue growth.
Infosys also reported healthy growth across all its verticals and geographies during the quarter. The company further noted that the financial services segment, its largest contributor, has been growing at a rate higher than the overall company growth.
On the headcount front, Infosys’ total employee strength stood at 328,062 at the end of the first quarter, down by 532 employees compared with the fourth quarter of FY26. However, on a year-on-year basis, the headcount increased by 4,274.
The company said it will roll out wage hikes in October and January.
CEO designate Ashiss Kumar Dash is a 30-plus year veteran at Infosys and is now based in Los Angeles. He is the Executive Vice President and Global head - services, utilities, resources, energy & enterprise sustainability.
Parekh was appointed the CEO in January 2018 and credited with doubling the company’s revenues from $10 billion to $20 billion.
