Networking company Arrcus sees India as key engineering centre
The engineering centre of Arrcus in Bengaluru has grown in importance in product development over the years and is expected to play key role in the future.
Arrcus, ,California headquartered networking technology company with investors such as Nvidia, Lightspeed Venture Partners sees its engineering centre in Bengaluru playing a key role in building newer tech platforms.
“We have had our operations in Bengaluru pretty much since the day one and it has evolved into a collaboratively developed entity,” said Shekar Ayyar, Chairman & CEO, Arrcus in an interview with EnterpriseStory.
Arrcus is a networking company focused on providing routing and switching solutions for data centre customers, network operators, telecom companies, and enterprises.
According to Ayyar, Arrcus is seeing intense product devlopement at both its headquarters in San Jose, California and Bengaluru.
He adds that Bengaluru has stepped up its product building capacity as Arrcus has got customers in India. According to the CEO, this closer interaction with the customers in India is lending more value to its engineering centre in Bengaluru.
Ayyar also remarked that there is the availability of a high quality talent pool in India which enables them to be engaged in cutting edge activity like artificial intelligence.
The CEO said that although Arrcus is a decade-old entity, the company is challenging the leaders in the networking space like Cisco and Juniper with a new approach. Unlike the traditional approach where one was bound to a particular company’s networking equipment and software while Arrcus is providing the flexibility.
“We are going in and saying that one can have a completely new paradigm for the network which is programmable and software-driven infrastructure,” Ayyar remarked.
This would mean that companies adapting to the networking platform of Arrcus need not remove their existing tech infrastructure while also being able to carry out new tasks. It has also developed its platforms in such a manner that it is compatible with any kind of networking hardware.
The CEO also claimed that their software platform allows enterprises to get higher performance at a lower cost.
At the same time the tech platform of Arrcus is also built for the new workload of artificial intelligence. “We are bringing our story to our customers with existing architecture but also to those who are looking at the AI infrastructure,” Ayyar remarked.
The CEO said the tech platform of Arrcus can perform the functions of AI training and inferencing. He further noted that its AI inferencing capabilities possess a high degree of sophistication which can ingest numerous data points to come out with insights.
As part of its future product roadmap, Arrcus will be adding newer AI features to its platform.
The company is also finding traction for its products in the Indian market especially from the financial services segment. It is also in the process of selecting go-to-market partners in the country.
