Let's fall in love with the People First!!
I think, we should all be grateful to people who make us happy. If you have people in your life to love, you are blessed. So, slow down and enjoy the simple things. How about the idea of just dropping a thank-you text or giving a thank-you call to someone you can recall instantly? No matter how long you have been in touch or out of touch. Let's all recall the good times, the bad times & the people who stood by us. Let's all appreciate the people who made us laugh, who made us cry, who made us what we are today.
While talking to someone on my fondness for Mumbai, I popped up with an answer, “because I have my people there”. While the discussion was on, and we kept on discussing different places and culture, I just noticed, my answer was almost the same for all the places I have visited. Be it Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Goa etc.
In every story there was some mention, in every instance there were some names. And most importantly these mentions are a part of life now. So my love and hate relationship with the place is because of people. People fall in love with beautiful beaches, landscapes, culture but more so often I fall in love with the people first. May be this is the way I am. My friends know how much I love getting clicked. I try not to miss any moment with the people in my frame of life. Because I actually feel, with these photo memories, you carry life with you. And once you leave that place, you miss it more and you love it more because of these people.
Like, when I leave Indore, I miss it for my friends and family and yes, not to forget Food. Food makes me recall my trip back to Hyderabad…that ‘Keshav Reddy Ki Masala Pav Bhaji’, loaded with loads of cheese. My sister and her friends made it the most memorable trip of my life. I actually lived and laughed. Got new friends, shopped, hopped and what not. I guess this is the slice of life, when you have special mention to special instances of your life.
Two years back we (me and my two crazy friends) planned a Mumbai Trip. We thought we will go somewhere from Mumbai but were clueless about that ‘somewhere’. May be three of us just wanted to pack up and run away for few days. Finally we landed up at Matheran. With no preparations at all. And what followed us was a lifetime adventure. I know my girls can relate to it instantly. The place is extremely beautiful but we actually fell in love with the place, after we met a Gujarati family, our savior. Such lovely people they were! They made us visit the most beautiful sight, which otherwise we would have surely skipped. We even got a pic with the aunt (Local helper) who helped us with all our baggage. One thing to really appreciate was their spirit. She managed to help us with the baggage for approximately 4-5 km, without any complaint. Unlike us, who were busy getting clicked and taking breaks. These people made those haunted streets a memory for lifetime.
I don't know if I will be as excited for Goa as I was in the first place. May be I would need someone to look forward to that time. Sometimes I don't understand why everything revolves around 'PEOPLE' for me. May be that soothes me a lot. May be that makes me feel like I am coming back to home. Yes, coming back to home. That is the catch. This makes me recall, some genius has very well said, “marry someone or be with someone who feels like home’. I know that sounds little off-track. But trust me that is the most crucial chapter of my life right now.
On a serious note, I guess that is the magic of people in life. A sense of comfort, security and closeness that you get from them is out of the way. Some people in your life touch you so very deeply that they completely change the definition of love and friendship.
Cheers!
