Mrs. Prajakta Kale’s is a living legend in the field of Bonsai Trees. Her dedication and passion for bonsai trees has result into a huge family of more than 3500 bonsai trees and the number increases every month. She spends 8 to 10 hours every day and it is the same routine for last 35 years. She has the largest Penjing in her collection. She runs an NGO “Bonsai Namste” through which she aims to take this passionate hobby to the next level where she can generate employment opportunities for the women belong to the tribal areas by training them. She has also proposed certificate courses and also aiming to offer various course under skill India project. Under Bonsai Namaste, she channelized her efforts to organise the largest Bonsai Convention and Exhibition in the world. In February 2018, she successfully organised this event in Pune. This exhibition featured over 1000 exquisite Bonsai trees from her personal collection. It also conducted live demonstrations of 20 masters from across the world for 600 Bonsai artists. Over 2 lakh citizens of Pune paid a visit to this exhibition and learned about the art of Bonsai, without any charges.
She has been felicitated and honoured with many awards and accolades for her dedication and passion in the field of Bonsai. Guinness World Records is one more jewel added to her crown.
