French Start-up StarOfService after launching in India about 2 years ago raises another $10 million. To beef up India operations.
French startup StarofService, raised $10 million capital in a recent fund raiser. Andrea Piccioni and Silvio Pagliani Enern Investments and Point Nine Capital participated in this round of financing.
With an idea of making services more easy to access, this start up that was launched in 2013 as a small network of individuals in France, has now gone on to have a presence in over 80 countries.
With thousands of happy customers worldwide, StarofService is using its momentum to surge ahead and be a truly global service provider.
StarofService might be a look-alike of Thumbstack, the US based online service provider. While Thumbtack remains the unbeaten leader in the US, StarofService aims at hitting the world market, instead of being confined to its boundaries. They want to make the service accessible to the entire world.
The company is seeing a lot of traction in markets like India, Indonesia, Italy and Germany.
Monica Zamfir, Director of International Operations says “India has seen some substantial growth since the time we started one year ago. More than 30,000 professionals have registered and we are looking to grow aggressively in the next 3 years.”
For those who aren’t aware, here’s how StarOfService works. If there’s a service that you’re looking for, say a plumber, photographer, DJ, wedding planner, home tutor, language trainer, or what so ever, just visit the website. Tell them what you’re looking for, and within a few hours, a mailer is sent to a list of professionals and each of them can compete for your business by bidding. You may then compare prices and reviews and select the best that you like. The concept is about buying services, which is made as easy as buying products.
With its presence in India, thousands of professionals are pleased to grow their business through this platform. Before launching in India, the company had served over 2 million customers in several countries like France, Italy, UK, Australia, Poland, Germany, Spain, Canada, and Brazil. In merely a few years of existence, the company has been able beat some of their bigger peers.
Previously, in 2015, StarOfService was able to raise around $2 million in a Seed Capital round. Within a year of operations, the growth that the company has shown is truly remarkable. With the recent $10 million that the company has been able to raise, it aims to expand further and explore different markets around the world.
The launch of StarOfService in India is going to expand thousand of professionals who are looking to acquire new customers. It holds a two-way benefit. A benefit to the customers who would otherwise have to search for professionals, and an opportunity for professionals to develop their business.
