There was a time when it was difficult for a fresh graduate to get a job without any experience, but that has clearly changed today. Why are companies looking to hire freshers ?
This is a pretty valid question, why would companies hire freshers when there are experienced candidates available in the market. The answer to this question is pretty simple, companies get numerous benefits by hiring freshers that experienced candidates do not give them. Low salary, blank slate and enthusiasm are some of the benefits they can get from freshers. The company may get a good quality employee for half the salary as compared to experienced employees. The best part is that, freshers have a unique flair and enthusiasm to the work they do. This may not be there in other employees as this is a quality which fades with time in the corporate world.
How can this benefit the freshers?
It was extremely difficult to get a job as a new graduate or pass-out in the last decade, this problem is no longer seen in fresh graduates. This new trend has increased placement rate in colleges to about 70% on an average in India. Whatever the job is, once the student enters professional working environment, he passes the most difficult step of getting started. Once a job is started, an employee has no where to look but up.
