There is such a thing as the perfect score, and Vibha and Devang have it on their ISC board exams marksheet

There is such a thing as the perfect score, and Vibha and Devang have it on their ISC board exams marksheet

In a perfect world, everyone would get the perfect marks, and everyone would stand in first place. While that cannot be true, for the first time, the ‘perfect score’ is a reality for two Indian School Certificate (ISC) students. Vibha Swaminathan of Mallya Aditi International School, Bengaluru, and Devang Kumar Agarwal from Kolkata’s La Martiniere Boys School both scored 100 percent in five subjects in their ISC Class XII board exams.

Vibha had opted for the Humanities branch, and her subjects were Economics, English, Political Science, Mathematics, and History. Devang, on the other hand, is a science student and his subjects were Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and English, according to a report by News18.

On the routine that she followed to secure the top position, Vibha told The Indian Express that she logged in six to seven hours of studying every day, and the assignments and projects at school helped her gain a deeper understanding of the topics concerned.

“It wasn't about how many hours I put in, but what work I completed. So I didn't really push myself,” she said.

Devang, on the other hand, told News18,

“It has been just a few hours so the feeling is yet to sink in. I am satisfied as I didn’t have any pressure to do well nor did I set any threshold. My preparation included day-to-day goals I had set and achieved. These goals would depend on particular subjects I focused on studying that day. This is what helped me.”

As for the future, Vibha has her eyes set on a career in law and aspires to join the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and is currently focussed on preparing for the Common Law Admission Test, reports News 18. Devang plans to pursue computer engineering.

This year, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISE) recorded 96.52 percent and 98.54 percent as the pass percentages for ISC and ICSE, respectively. Both percentages have risen as compared to the previous year’s results, reports The News Minute. The top scorers of the ICSE batches are Mumbai’s Juhi Rupesh Kajaria, and Punjab’s Manhar Bansal with 96.60 percent.
