Founded in 2007, it was initially branded as mKhoj by founders Mohit Saxena, Abhay Singhal, Amit Gupta and Naveen Tewari. In 2011, it became the country’s first-ever unicorn start-up. Prior to that in 2008, they reformed their SMS-based services to comply with mobile advertising, rebranding themselves as InMobi. The founders stated that the rebranding was necessary owing to the expansion of their services.
As of 2021, they had 22 offices in 12 countries in 5 continents. The company has 1,500 employees and offers services worldwide, as mentioned on their website.
Its investors include the likes of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sherpalo Ventures and SoftBank amongst others.
They received seed funding in 2007 raking in a total of $0.5 million. Followed by a Series A funding of $7.1 million in 2008, a Series B funding of $8 million in 2010 and a Series C funding of $200 million in 2011.
