Snapdeal

Snapdeal is an ecommerce company headquartered in New Delhi. It was founded in 2010 by Rohit Bansal and Kunal Bahl. The company was initially a platform that would showcase daily deals offered by sellers but then developed into an online marketplace.

As of 2023, it is one of the largest online marketplaces in India.

Focused on selling fashion and home-based merchandise, it has ties with approximately 400,000 sellers and merchants.

After an unsuccessful merger between Snapdeal and Flipkart, it incorporated a new strategy, rebranding themselves as Snapdeal 2.0. This change resulted in the redirection of resources from facet companies like Freecharge and Vulcan Express, to their e-commerce-based marketplace. The company has raised several rounds of funding from investors such as Nexus Venture Partners, Kalaari Capital, Temasek Holdings, BlackRock, SoftBank, Alibaba Group, and others.
