Urban Company (initially named Urban Clap) was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India. The company was founded by Abhiraj Bhal, Raghav Chandra and Varun Khaitan. Their investors include the likes of The Tata group, Tiger Global and Wellington Management amongst others.

Since its inception, the company became a frequently opted-after home service company in India and the UAE. They provide premium service professionals such as beauticians, masseurs, cleaners, carpenters and technicians.

They have a diverse consumer network, consisting of 40,000 well-trained and verified professionals and 5 million customers, as of 2021. They provide their services in India, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sydney and Singapore.

The company offers its services in over 35 cities in India, and in services that range across 150 categories. Their revenue grew by 150% in the fiscal year of 2021 and over 95 percent of their customers have rated their services as excellent or good.

The company received the Economic Times’ Most Promising Brand award and as well as the LinkedIn Top Startups award.
