The Proust Questionnaire is a questionnaire about one’s personality. It has its origins in a parlour game popularised by Marcel Proust, the French essayist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature.

Niyati Chander is Co-founder and COO of SmartDEN, a company that provides Smart Home Solutions.

Niyati is a post-graduate from University for Technology, Sydney, with over 5 years of experience in formulating strategic alliances and business strategy. She has also successfully started and established her own consulting firm for SMEs.

She launched SmartDEN during the pandemic and has built a significant team within three months of its birth. She is also an avid reader.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

A peaceful day.

What is your greatest fear?

A day without work.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

Trusting everybody.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?

Double faces.

Which living person do you most admire?

My father.

What is your greatest extravagance?

The pleasure of running a startup.

What is your current state of mind?

Happy and at peace.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Truth.

On what occasion do you lie?

When it gives peace to others.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?

I am short, so I have to wear heels always.

Which living person do you most despise?

Nobody- I learn from everyone.

What is the quality you most like in a man?

Loyalty.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?

Being genuine.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

“I Know”, “don’t worry” and “wait”.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

SmartDEN.

Which talent would you most like to have?

The power of negotiation.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Trusting people blindly.

Coming out of a sensitive personal issue.

A better version of myself.

Wherever I live, I want to live in peace.

My values.

Selfishness.

I like being an entrepreneur as it never gets boring.

Jerry from ‘Tom & Jerry’, as he never loses hope.

My parents.

Lies.

What is your greatest regret?

Not considering myself as a priority in the past.

Any journey to places by the ocean.

Don't get distracted. Do not focus on numbers. Focus on what you do the best. Success will follow.
