Internship: SciDev.Net South Asian Internship, due April 4th

Looking to develop and refine your research and journalism skills? Interested in covering development and the role of science and technology in this process? If so, apply to SciDev.Net‘s 3 month internship this summer.
In addition to daily tasks such as writing and researching news stories, the intern will learn about all aspects of how an online news website operates, including finding news stories, the editorial process, publishing and news dissemination.
The internship will consist of two months based in SciDev.Net’s London office and one month working with the SciDev.Net South Asia office in Delhi, or within the South Asian region.
The intern will also have the opportunity to visit other relevant science communication organisations in both South Asia and the United Kingdom, and attend at least one training programme.
The internship will go from mid-June to mid-September and the organization is looking for someone within the South Asian region. Questions should be sent to [email protected]. More information is available after the jump.
- Candidate requirementsA keen interest in science and technology, particularly relating to development;
- A good level of written and spoken English
- Experience of working with a national newspaper, magazine, radio, television, either as a reporter or on the desk
- A background in science journalism is desirable but not essential.
- Must be a native of South Asia and based in the region.
- Must be available to take the internship in a three-month block between mid-June to mid-September 2008.
Please note that the internship is a full-time commitment during this period.
