IIM Lucknow unveils Nirvaan'09, The Annual Entrepreneurship Summit

Are you ready to battle it out for an idea whose time had come? Are

you ready to embark on the ride of your lifetime? Finally are you ready

for NIRVAAN??? Nirvaan, the annual entrepreneurship summit organized by

Abhiyan, the entrepreneurship cell of IIM Lucknow, is an initiative

guided towards fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship. This year

Abhiyan is presenting Nirvaan'09 in association with policybazaar,

India's leading online life and non-life insurance aggregator.

Nirvaan'09 will showcase the best of India's entrepreneurs, to let the

participants get a chance to interact closely with them, to understand

what goes into making top entrepreneurs.

Nirvaan 09 is organized on the theme, "Clean Goes Green" with a special

emphasis on clean technology. This event would be having

representatives from Venture Capital firms as well as teams of

investors. Nirvaan in the past has seen guests like Raman Roy (founder,

Wipro Spectramind), Sanjeev Bikhchandani (CEO and co-founder,

Naukri.com), Sanjay Bhargava (Founder, Paypal) and VC firms like

IndiaCo, Seedfund, NirmaLabs and Band of Angels mentoring and

evaluating the participants.

Events

bPlan " The Business Plan competition

bPlan is targeted at b-schools students and purposely designed to bring out the great

ideas of them. Through a rigorous process which involves 3 stages, the

finalists are chosen by an esteemed panel of VCs, faculty, and

entrepreneurs (please see the attached B-plan brochure for further

details)

Start-up Showcase

Abhiyan is providing a platform to blossoming start-ups to showcase

themselves and secure funding. This is the first event of its kind in

north India and expected to receive more than 30 entrepreneurs

presenting their business plans. All participating entries will get a

novel opportunity to connect with IIML Advisory Board based on their

merit

and nature of business (please see the attached Start-up Showcase brochure for further details).

Talks & Workshops

Workshops are conducted by eminent speakers to share knowledge of

current and future business trends. These workshops have a common goal

of empowering participants onto their entrepreneurial journey through

various tools. Speakers are a perfect fit for the job, with a plethora

of experience in business, built through their exploits of successfully

venturing out and by meticulous learning.

Networking sessions

Nirvaan with the presence of both established and budding entrepreneurs

provides a forum for networking and socializing to the participants.

Networking sessions are intended to enable participants to harness this

unique opportunity that Nirvaan presents before them, wherein eminent

personalities relate their personal experiences and their rendezvous

with entrepreneurship.

Start-up Exhibition

All finalists of the Start-up Showcase event will qualify to

participate in Start-up Exhibition. Exhibition provides start-ups an

in-campus promotion stall. This is a wonderful opportunity for

start-ups to market their product and services among thousands of

participants from various engineering and b-schools all over India.
