The firm pledges to perform all activities concerning the media and the entertainment industry right from organising events, casting and coordination for Hindi and South Indian films/serials/print/ and commercial ads, film publicity, celebrity management, PR and grooming talents for films, music, sports and fashion industry to brand endorsement, hosting television & live entertainment shows, ad films and a host of other representational services. The enterprise ensures to exchange and create value for both brands and talents alike.
On how she came about the idea to establish Redstar Entertainments, Rc said, “The desire to be glamorous and acquire fame has attracted thousands across the country to Bollywood. Every guy thinks he can be Shahrukh Khan and every girl believes she is as good as Kareena Kapoor. They come to Mumbai with these big dreams, and after struggling for years, eventually switch to another profession, realising their ambition only drained them of money.”
“People come to the city without assessing whether or not are they suitable for the industry. And even if they are, they fail to zero in on the direction they should work to achieve their goal. It is here that Redstar Entertainments comes into the picture, proving the right kind of guidance and setting a definite pathway to success. We also assure them jobs and strive to give our clients the best opportunities to explore their dreams to become an actor or a pop star,” she added.
The premium casting firm is owned and spearheaded by Bollywood’s well-known casting director. She embarked on a career casting films sometime in the early 2008, and within a year of freelance casting, she proved her mettle by fast emerging as one of Bollywood’s youngest and the most promising casting directors. Rc is one of the few to have worked for eight big-banner projects at the same time. She is not only young and ambitious, but also courageous enough to go ahead with her vision, wit and talent.
“Our company is a team of young and energetic professionals, including publicist, casting directors, marketing executives and assistant casting directors, who endeavour to provide clients with fresh and creative executive ideas. We have successfully organised popular events nationwide keeping in mind the requirement and budget of our clients,” said Rc while talking about the company and its approach towards its clients.
When asked about the scope of the organisation, Rc confidently said that hundreds of people benefit from its services since they know its better to be in the right hands than struggle aimlessly. This adequately explains that the company will continue to expand and grow in the future as well.
“Both the company and the clients have a common goal — to get maximum opportunities to grow and emerge successful, and I will try my level best to achieve this. I was, in fact, born with a business mind. I like to be my own boss,” said Rc about why she chose to be an entrepreneur instead of sticking to a 9-5 job.
However, it wasn’t all hunky dory for this young and enterprising lady. The journey from a struggling casting director to becoming a managing director of the company was quite a challenge, but Rc’s grit and dedication helped her overcome the most trying situations no time. “Every person needs to dream and work hard to accomplish their set targets; nothing is impossible,” she asserted.
Rc believes the biggest mistake she made as an amateur entrepreneur was to trust some of the known directors and producers in the industry. If one is to go by what she says— trust nobody in the film industry. Her biggest achievement, on the other hand, has been the trust her friends in the industry and models and artists have reposed in her.
Rc’s vision for the company for the year 2010 is to see Redstar Entertainments grow as a Corporate House. And to those hundreds of budding entrepreneurs who wish to take up a similar venture she says — Beware of Redstar Entertainments.
