Akash Takyar, Founder, LeewayHertz Technologies Pvt Ltd

Monday August 31, 2009 , 2 min Read

The aim of being one of the 10 largest information technology service providers by 2018 has steered Akash Takyar on a path that has seen his endeavour grow from freelance services in 2003 to a full-fledged firm recognised by NASSCOM as one of the 50 emerging companies in India in 2009.

Takyar established LeewayHertz Technologies Pvt Ltd in 2008, providing expertise in Cloud computing consulting and iPhone application development, and becoming one of the earliest entrants in the iPhone Developer Program.

LeewayHertz offers user-interface designing and technology capabilities with an ability to provide offshore development with an in-house feel. Continuously expanding its range of services, the firm has delved into Google Android, BlackBerry and Palm Pre development.

Takyar has envisaged LeewayHertz as a company that grows continuously in terms of more than just profit, by also keeping its customers satisfied. And while overcoming the challenge of retaining good employees, Takyar is connected with them on a personal level and ensures that their needs are satisfied. From just two employees in March 2006, the team strength at LeewayHertz grew to seven in March 2007; the company now has 25 employees striving in the pursuit of its goals.

But Takyar’s venture into the field began at a younger age, years before he was to complete his master’s degree in computer applications in 2007. Learning from the mistakes he made along the way, such as not taking a signed, detailed proposal from a customer, his triumph over the odds was honoured with an Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award in 2008.

Always passionate about running his own company, Takyar dreamt of an office in a glass building located by a river. These aspirations urged him to eventually establish LeewayHertz with his personal savings, a decision that has resulted in success, as evidenced by a 300 per cent growth in the company’s profits in the last financial year.

Takyar recently launched another brand, Cadile Systems, which can be accessed at www.cadile.com, while LeewayHertz has been ranked 36th on the Tata NEN list of hottest start-ups this year, and YourStory congratulates this entrepreneur and wishes him and his team the best in future endeavours.
