Tuesday November 03, 2009 , 2 min Read

TiE Hyderabad is organizing a talk by Prof. John Mullins, author of Getting to PlanB: Breaking Through to a Better Business Model from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Friday 06th November 2009 at the Kohinoor, Hotel Taj Deccan, Hyderabad

Despite numerous books and articles on business planning, a plethora of websites, and no shortage of good advice, most business plans attract no customers and raise no capital. This talk examines the five oh-so-common varieties of business plans that go most quickly into the trash. And it identifies a process and a framework for getting to a business plan and a business model that will actually work.

He earned his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. An award-winning teacher, John brings to his teaching and research 20 years of executive experience in high-growth retailing firms including two ventures he founded and one he took public.

Since becoming a business school professor in 1992, John has published three books, numerous cases and more than 40 articles in a variety of outlets, including Harvard Business Review, the MIT Sloan Management Review, and theJournal of Product Innovation Management.
