A month-long entrepreneurship skill development programme for rural women was organised at Tiruppaingeeli in Mannachanallur taluk, Tiruchi recently to enable them take up micro-level business activity and improve their economic status. A total number of 26 women from Tiruppaingeeli and its surrounding villages participated in the entrepreneurship skill development programme that was organised by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute of the Central Government. The training sessions held at the Anbu Karunai Matrum Sevai Maiyam featured practical demonstrations on embroidery, bathing and washing soap making, cleaning and washing powder making besides talcum powder making, pain balm, hair oil and phenyl making.A function was organised a few days ago to distribute certificates to those who completed the training. Assistant Director, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute, Chennai N. Srinivasulu while distributing the certificates spoke about the importance of the training programme. Manager of Canara Bank, Tiruppaingeeli Ms. Sumathi while highlighting about various schemes explained about the norms to obtain loan from the banks. The participants were explained about marketing their products and the ways of getting benefitted under the Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana by government officials. Anbu Karunai Matrum Sevai Maiyam president T. Johnson Prabhakar welcomed the gathering.
