NASSCOM EMERGEOUT Startup 29: S. Sanjeev, MD, Medsphere

Wednesday April 28, 2010 , 2 min Read

NASSCOM Emerge
MedSphere

S. Sanjeev is the MD of Medsphere. Medsphere Technologies is a global teleradiology and PACS solution provider, which develops teleradiology and PACS products and services for customers around the world. The product has unique capability of working with low bandwidth, making images available anytime, anywhere through the web, even on a lap top on the road (the only thing needed is Internet connectivity, which could be through a data card on a laptop. MedSphere is dedicated to fuse technology with healthcare. Both the fields require extreme focus, precision, and unaffordability to fail. This is so because human lives are involved. This naturally leads to the boundaries of ethics, integrity, and compliance. But these provide direction instead of limiting the company’s strength and work.

The MD of Medsphere shares his thoughts on entrepreneurship with Indian Startup EMERGEOUT initiative by NASSCOM.1. Why did you take up entrepreneurship journey?

Sanjeev: I could see a compelling market need and desire to build something from the scratch.

2. What keeps you going (how and where do you find your motivation levels)?

Sanjeev: Making a significant difference to the society by meeting an unaddressed need and taking on the established biggies.

3. What is your advice to wannabe entrepreneurs in India?

Sanjeev: The ecosystem to support entrepreneurship has never been so good. Go for it now. Also remember, VC or PE money is an illusion. Real money comes from the customers.

4. What success means to you and your organization?

Sanjeev: Winning in the market place, having smiling customers , making money, and growing – all of it together.

5. What are your learnings from the failures?

Sanjeev: There is nothing like a failure. These are experiences, which come handy going forward.

Sanjeev’s short and crisp answers make his intention clear. He wants to make a difference to the society. That’s what drives him.
