ISB Launches iDiya Social Venture Competition (apply by Sep 19)
The Indian School of Business has launched the iDiya Challenge, an idea competition for social ventures which is open to working
professionals across India to participate in. The competition opened on July 23rd and will accept applications till Sep 19th. The winners of the competition will receive Rs. 1,00,000 and six teams will get a chance to participate in a week long bootcamp with industry leaders, VCs and mentors. Last year’s bootcamp included speakers like S.Sivakumar, Chief Executive of Agribusiness, ITC, Atreya Rayaprolu, Vice President, Intellecap, and Sachin Malhan, Co-founder & CEO, Inclusive Planet.
The evaluation process focuses on the social need, business plan and the measurable social impact of the idea. The winners of 2009, Source Pilani is a Rural BPO focussed on medical transcription. Since the competition, they have have provided employment to 25 villagers in the area around Pilani, Rajasthan.
The competition requires only an executive summary and is open to people across India. It is geared at individuals or groups that have a vision and are looking for support and mentorship to take it to the next level. The iDiya Challenge is a great platform for anyone looking to take the leap into social entrepreneurship!
