Startup Weekend, a global organization committed to delivering premier experiential education for entrepreneurs, will conduct its events in two Indian cities (Delhi and Bangalore) for the first time. Startup Weekend puts together 54-hour long events that act as platforms for developers, coders, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts to come together and share ideas, form teams, build products and even create startups.Startup Weekend was founded in June 2007 by Andrew Hyde as a limited liability company. Two years later, the Seattle-based organization was put under new leadership and it also changed into a non-profit entity. After tasting success in 100 cities across USA, Europe and East Asia, Startup Weekend has been launched in India, with the Delhi event scheduled for March 4th – 6th and the Bangalore event happening on March 11th – 13th. Sanjeev Bikchandani, Founder and Vice Chairman of Naukri.com, will be one of the key speakers in the Delhi edition.
Speaking about their launch in India, Shane Reiser, COO of Startup Weekend said, “The startup scene in India is blowing up. We want to provide the same high-energy, collaborative environment designed to inspire entrepreneurship from the ground-up in India, just like we’ve done in hundreds of cities across the world.” With a motto that says “No Talk. All Action”, we’re inclined to believe them.
