Webonise Lab announces winners for IADC

Webonise Lab launched Indian Android Developer Contest on 26th of January 2011. The contest was launched to encourage Indian app developers to develop applications that suits Indian Context. During the course of this contest, The company also intends to launch AppBazar, India?s first Android App Store which would feature the top applications in each category.The company announced on 9th May 2011, the results of IADC AppBazar and the AppBazar Team would like to convey their hearty wishes to the winners: -
- Best App in ‘Social’ category – Krishi Ville
- Best App in ‘Business’ category – iStockfolio
- Best App in ‘Masala Apps’ category – Discover India
- Best App in ‘Games’ category – Sher Shikari
- Best Indian App – BSE / NSE Stock Markets Live
- Best Designed App – Dot Houses
IADC AppBazar had a high profile jury contributing with their skill and experience in mobile domain to help us place the deserving apps the top of the league: -
- Aditya Bhide, India Head for Samsung Java app Store, Samsung group.
- Rohan Garg, Mobile product Head, Make My Trip.
- Shailesh Lakhani, VP, Sequoia Capital
“Right from the inception of this contest, we knew that we have to create value for developers in terms of distribution channel, revenue and exposure.”, says Shardul Mohite, CEO, Webonise Lab.
AppBazar was launched on 15th April 2011 which was also the date of commencement of the second round of the judging of 42 apps selected by Webonise Lab. The voting continued in full swing for 15 days and ended on 1st May 2011. The apps were then presented to the jury and evaluated on the criteria of
- Design
- Ease of use
- Idea
Verdict was finally given by jury panel and final results announced on 9th May 2011. The Team is especially overjoyed with the response for AppBazar during the second phase of the contest. Within a week of its launch, it had registered with itself over 5000 users and the number keeps growing.
The top 42 Apps are now featured on the official website of IADC AppBazar. The AppBazar will be opening to publishers shortly.
