Bangalore based hotel aggregation and reservation company MagicRooms has been acquired by top Indian online travel agency(OTA) Yatra.com. MagicRooms had earlier raised Rs 7 crore in July 2010 from Nexus Venture Capitals, which has now exited from MagicRooms. MagicRooms was founded by Niranjan Gupta in 2009, who is also the co-founder of Via(formerly FlightRaja). MagicRooms provides a global distribution system (GDS) for hotel rooms in India and abroad. Room inventory and rates can be easily distributed as each hotel's property management system intergrates with travel agents, travel portals and websites and corporate houses through MagicRooms. They have signed another OTA MakeMyTrip, as it's customer. Yatra had also earlier acquired New Delhi-based Travel Services International to enter the foray of ticket consolidation.
