India Product Management Association (www.indiapma.org), a grassroots organization for product management and marketing community in India turned 1 on Nov 28th 2011. IPMA Bangalore Chapter is organizing an annual event on this ocassion on the theme of Product Management In India - Are we ready? There are 2400+ product companies according to a survey by NASSCOM and Zinnov. For these companies to be successful, product management and marketing is critical. IPMA's mission is to catalyze this talent base by providing a knowledge sharing and networking forum for the community and bringing in industry leaders to share their experiences. IPMA has a chapter in Pune as well. Between Bangalore and Pune, IPMA has organized a total of 6 speaker series, 3 p-camps and 3 workshop series to help grow the expertise in this area. IPMA plans to start in Delhi and Hyderabad.The Annual Event on Dec 4 2011 at IIM-Bangalore has a powerful line up of speakers - Sharad Sharma, NASSCOM Product Forum Chair will be the opening keynote. Followed by Pari Natarajan, CEO of Zinnov who will be speaking on Business Models that work for Indian Product Companies. Following Pari will be Vijay Anand, VP at Intuit who is passionate about product management and will be speaking on Product Innovation for Emerging Markets. Last, but not the least, Jayanth Kolla from Convergence Catalyst will be speaking on the Indian Tablet Ecosystem!
To get things started, IPMA is running a competition on the Best visual description of the Indian Product Ecosystem. Submissions ends Dec 1, Thursday. Details are available on the IPMA web site - http://indiapma.org
