Russian Startup Tour : A roadshow across 10 cities

Russian Startup Tour 2011 is a series of one day events which took place in 10 cities of the Russian Federation. Each event consists of three blocks:- consultations with federal experts and representatives of innovation infrastructure,
- project packing and evening presentations to investors,
- the Futureworkshop format where a group of contestants create new ideas and solve tasks through crowdsourcing
Fifteen projects were chosen in each city. These projects go through preparations for evening presentations and will be watched by experts, investors and other attendees. According to the session results three best projects will be chosen. The winners will be invited to the Russian Innovation Convention. Russia’s Innovative Convention is a major event focusing on modern science, technology and innovative entrepreneurship and bringing together young inventors, researchers, innovative entrepreneurs, heads of corporations, public figures and political leaders both from Russia and abroad in order to create unique synergies, generate cutting-edge ideas and foster unprecedented cross-cutting projects.
"This year the event takes place for the first time. We already have thoughts on how to make the event bigger and more useful for startups. So, we are making the biggest startup roadshow in the country." said Vitaly Halenchyk, part of the organizing team of the startup tour.
The official organizer of the event is the Federal Bureau on Youth Affairs. The authors of this concept are the Zvorykinsky project team. Zvorykinsky innovation project is a programme of the Federal Bureau on Youth Affairs which aims to provide an opportunity for thousands of young people to realize the scientific potential of Russia and is a base for innovation projects in Russian Federation.
"We are planning to widen the program of meetings with investors, one of the ideas we are working on now is the creation and promotion of the platform on crowdfunding investment." adds Vitaly.
