Cooliris Launches Social Photo Discovery App for iPhone and iPad

Cooliris Launches Social Photo Discovery App for iPhone and iPad

Friday July 27, 2012 , 2 min Read

Cooliris has launched an all-new Cooliris app for iPad and iPhone. Leveraging the Cooliris 3D Wall that the company is renowned for, Cooliris app lets users discover and share photos from multiple sources, all in one place. Cooliris integrates rich media sources such as the mobile photo library, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Images into one seamless app to create a relevant and exciting experience for users to discover photos. Users can selectively share photos in private one-on-one or group conversations, or cross-post collections to their Facebook Timeline. If you have used the Cooliris 3D wall for browsing through Google images search on the web, you will be familiar with the 3D wall that is generated. The app brings this experience to your device photos, Facebook and Instagram photos. The wall featches photos from your Facebook newsfeed and you can share the photos through the “conversations” feature which uses your device address book and Facebook contacts.

“We recognized that the media most relevant to you is scattered across the web and your personal devices,” said Austin Shoemaker, Cooliris CTO. “We decided to combine the Cooliris Wall with our new real-time backend to deliver an efficient, integrated experience for your personal media.”

Headquartered in Palo Alto, Cooliris is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures, The Westly Group, T-Venture, and DOCOMO Capital. Cooliris products and services include Android Gallery, LiveShare, Cooliris 3D wall and AdJitsu . AdJitsu was acquired by Amobee (which SingTel had acquired for $321M).

The new Cooliris is available today for free on iPad and iPhone at the iTunes App Store.
