Microsoft Imagine Cup 2013: Win $5000 + Trip to Russia

Are you an app developer with app ideas that can change the world? Microsoft announces its Imagine Cup 2013, a student technology competition, bringing together student innovators from all over the world. This one is for all you app developers with great ideas. Microsoft has been organizing the Imagine for the last 10 years. This year the finalists get to travel to Russia.
The competition is open in three categories – games, innovation and world citizenship. World Citizenship is for the software application developed on Microsoft platforms with the potential to make a positive impact on the world.
Games would be the most engaging and entertaining games targeting teens and youth, built on Microsoft platforms such as Windows 8, Windows Phone, Kinect for Windows Software Development Kit, and Xbox Indie Games.Innovation category is for apps that inspire consumers and innovation at their fingertips, whether it be a new spin on social networks, online shopping or search, built with Microsoft tools and technology.
In addition to the core competitions, students can also compete in a number of online challenges focused on specific technologies and platforms, including Windows 8, Windows Azure and Windows Phone.
Students are required to use Windows phones, Windows Azure or Windows 8 Apps to build their app. Students need to use Microsoft resources and support to make a great app and win travel and cash prizes. Microsoft will fly every finalist team to St. Petersburg, Russia, in July of 2013 for the thrilling showdown at Worldwide Finals. The cash prices would be 1st Prize: $50,000, 2nd Prize: $10,000 and 3rd Prize: $5,000.
