Apnacashback Launches Deals, Is it too late?
You wouldn't be surprised when you see people sneering at a deal site. They are aplenty. Led by Snapdeal and Mydala in India, the area has a multitude of other sites all fighting for the share. Just to give an idea about the kind of numbers we're talking about, there are sites dedicated to list these Indian deal sites. Praveen Rajaretnam runs one such blog which gives you the a to z about deals.
This enables the Apnacashback users to get exclusive discount voucher coupons and deals on their favorite merchants, products and services. These include customers from India and abroad. “In next few days you would see lots of new enhancements and changes on Apnacashback. Now you can rate your favorite merchants, leave feedback and comments; browse our top cashback and much, much more to make your experience reliable, fun and enjoyable,” says co-founder Yogesh Kumar.
Apnacashback business model is based on sale based commission. Originally its inventory and partnerships were based on with the big affiliate programs, but starting this year they moved on to partnering directly with big online and offline merchants. “This gives us huge advantage and more control on the partnership, revenue and commissions. While we are always exploring new opportunities that relate directly with our model, the current focus is on building our own sale based commission affiliate network,” says Rohit.
The fate of Apnacashback will hinge on how the deals are perceived and whether there exists a market for it. On how to scale a business in this space, no better than to learn it from the horses' mouth, Kunal Bahl of how he scaled Snapdeal.
