Startup Chile Selects 101 Companies for 5th Batch; 4 Indian Startups
The program gives US$40,000 of equity-free seed capital, and a temporary 1-year visa to develop their projects for six months, along with access to the most potent social and capital networks in the country.
In it's 5th batch now, Start-Up Chile received a pool of 1509 applicants out of which 101 have been selected and only four are from India: Diabeto, Picovico, Ecoswarm and Treadalong. Geographic Distribution:
- Chile: 26%
- USA: 24%
- Argentina, Brazil and the United Kingdom are other countries having prominent numbers
Major sectors in which these companies fall:
- Social Media: 16%
- Education: 14%
- eCommerce: 13%
- IT and Enterprise: 8%
Diabe.to: It is a non-intrusive bluetooth powered hardware device which enables the transfer of glucose readings from a users glucometer into an android device.The readings can then be analyzed easily with the help of an android application; one can select the time frames, analyze the sugar shifts and can even email the graph to the diabetologist for his opinion.
Picovico: It is a video creation tool that makes it easy and fun for everyone to create and share videos using their own pictures, words and music.
Ecoswarm: It is an online platform that is dedicated to sustainable development. EcoSwarm makes it easy for the user to keep up with his/her green interests. It helps one discover the latest in green technologies, business practices, lifestyle choices, products, services, and jobs - filtered and sorted based on what matters to the concerned person.
Treadalong: A stealth mode travel startup that goes by the tagline- share.discover.treadalong.
