2tion is part of Edserv founded by Sujai Pillai. 2tion had earlier tied up with Intuit (txtweb) to launch service targeting students through mobile via 2tionplus app. This service got more than 42,130 users in first 12 days and more than 5,068 questions asked during this period. Now they have launched a biggest online courses platform on 2tion, announcing its summer offer to bring world class e-learning courses on a single place with the support of over 37,000 tutors. 2tion offers more than 1,000 courses from different world class institutions. Students can select the courses according to their interest, either to be used on a tablet or smartphone and which can be easily accessed from anywhere.
2tion has created a collaborative learning system where the open course wares are divided into different levels. There are small tests to challenge the learner. On completing one level they can continue to next level. Students can clarify doubts either among the peer group or with professors or get support of expert tutors of 2tion. So a student sitting in a room has access to open source learning videos of English from Oxford University or management at Harvard or physics at Stanford etc. at the click of a button.
While students are mostly reluctant to purchase paid learning videos, this initiative could change the way student look at learning videos. 2tion is targeting all students who are equipped with tablets and laptops to enhance the learning process. Aakash tablets and free laptops given away by states and government has provided a bigger opportunity to penetrate the field of education .
Team 2tion strongly believes the idea of collaborative learning with a massive library of online courses will help make their offering more mainstream for students.
