Freecharge.in joins hands with movie production houses
FreeCharge became the first eCommerce portal to tie up with production houses SPE Films (Sony Pictures), ViaCom 18 Motion Pictures, UTV Motion Pictures and Y Films to promote their upcoming movies through their portal. The production houses are betting on the increasing number of customers turning to eCommerce in India. FreeCharge is a popular recharge destination site among Indian youth and has user base of about 3 million youth in the country.Y Films tied up with FreeCharge for promotion of Mere Dad ki Maruti recently. Post that, SPE Films (Sony Pictures) have made FreeCharge as official online recharge partner for the Oscar nominated movie ‘Django Unchained’. Additionally, UTV Motion Pictures has joined hands with FreeCharge for Himmatwala and have made FreeCharge their official online recharge partner. Similarly, ViaCom18 Motion Pictures have partnered with FreeCharge for their next movie, Chashme Baddoor, and made FreeCharge their official online recharge partner.
In addition to their online/ social reach, FreeCharge launched their campus marketing program called by the name of ‘FreeCharge Campus Rockstars’ that enables FreeCharge to conduct guerrilla marketing/ engagement campaigns in elite campuses like IIMs and IITs. This will also be beneficial for the production houses who are constantly in search for innovative ways to connect with their audiences.
Customers of FreeCharge stand a chance to rub shoulders with movie stars and win passes to the movies. There will be meet and greet opportunity for FreeCharge customers with the stars like Ajay Devgan, Tamannaah (Himmatwala), Ali Zafar and the main star casts in Chashme Baddoor. For FreeCharge, this association will mean that FreeCharge is promoted by the production houses/ movies in their ATL/ BTL/ On-screen promotion. The is the first time this is being done for any recharge portal in India.
