Dell Acquires Enstratius, Windows Azure sales hit $1B and more

This update includes more than past week's happening in cloud.Bloomberg published that Windows Azure related sales topped a whopping $1Bn. While some pundits questioned if this is all for Azure only or not, it is an impressive number. This shows serious competition from Microsoft to AWS. Microsoft also beefed up its evangelist team to lure more developers towards Windows Azure.
Enstratius - the Enterprise Cloud Management solution company got acquired by Dell. Through this acquisition, Dell strengthened its end-to-end solutions strategy bringing key capabilities to deliver cloud management products to our customers, not to mention an impressive team!

Rackspace reported lower than expected first quarter revenue, expects that its current quarter revenue will also be lesser than estimated. This was attributed primarily due to product price cuts. Rackspace also announced their Developer Support program - extending their Fanatical Support to developers too.
Pivotal was launched, announced PivotalOne - Enterprise PaaS, shining limelight on PaaS. AppFog discontinued supporting Rackspace cloud. Parse got acquired by Facebook (for all those developers who didn't like the acquisition, StackMob has an auto-importer!)
