Key Milestones
July 2010 : OpenStack launches
2010 - Oct 2011 : First four versions (Austin, Bexar, Cactus, Diablo)
Apr 2012: Essex (5th version) released, showing product maturity and gaining major adoptions
Sep 2012: OpenStack Foundation launched
Oct 2012: Folsom (6th version) released, new projects such as Dashboard (Horizon), Networking (Quantum)
Apr 2013: Grizzly (7th version) released - cool new features such as Load Balancing as a Service (LBaaS), SDN etc.

OpenStack in India
OpenStack adoption in India (our most recent coverage here) has been increasing steadily, OpenStack India User Group is one of the largest user groups globally. With a lot of companies using/ contributing from India, we expect larger traction soon.
