Urban Ladder launches Urban Storage app

India's leading online furniture store, Urban Ladder has announced the launch of it's first app, 'Urban Storage'. Labelled under ‘UL Labs’, this initiative is a collaborative outreach effort where teams from Urban Ladder will work with digital start-ups across the world to come up with pioneering solutions in various aspects of furniture buying . This is also a stepping stone towards the direction of providing innovative solutions to improve the ‘touch and feel gap’ in online furniture buying.Urban Ladder was launched by co-founders Ashish Goel (CEO) and Rajiv Srivatsa (COO) in July 2012 with the aim of providing a curated destination for home solutions, to help the urban Indian consumer build beautiful homes. The website provides shoppers with a wide range of contemporary designs of high quality, handcrafted furniture that blends beauty with functionality. The furniture is personally delivered and installed by Urban Ladder’s own logistics team for safe delivery. Urban Ladder recently raised $21 million in Series B round of funding. It is backed by top tier venture capital firms, Steadview Capital, SAIF Partners and Kalaari Capital.

Urban Storage is the first app from UL Labs. It is a modular wardrobe configurator which allows customers to choose different models, finishes, and internal configurations to design wardrobe, and check pricing relevant to their configuration with this app. The app has been conceptualized by the UL team and developed in collaboration with Whodat, a Bangalore based tech startup.The app doesn’t need internet connectivity, however connectivity to internet is required for price updates, catalog updates etc. The highlight of the app is its fast performance on every aspect and all features load in micro-seconds. The app can be downloaded on Android or iOS.

The next product from UL Labs will be 'Living Spaces', an app that will help customers visualize different models and fabrics of sofas in their living room to best suit the colour scheme and details of their home. Urban Ladder offers over 1000 products across 25 categories in furniture such as wardrobes, beds, sofas, dining tables and coffee table. The recent funding has fueled company's plans to invest heavily in technology to strengthen its position as a leader in the Indian furniture market.
