Helion announces organisational change, Kanwaljit Singh to step down
Helion is a multi-stage India-focused venture fund with over $600 million under management. The company has today announced the promotion of Ritesh Banglani and Rahul Chowdhri as Partners at the venture fund. Both were Directors prior to this transition. Rahul, who has been associated with Helion since inception, was loosely involved in building the fund’s expertise in eCommerce sector while, Ritesh, who joined in 2010 brought rich venture capital experience with him.Helion has also announced Senior Manager Director Kanwaljit Singh’s plan to move on and pursue his interests in the consumer space. Kanwal was instrumental in helping found Helion and he will stay with Helion till March 2016 and effect a smooth transition.
Prior to joining Helion, Rahul Chowdhri was a Group Program Manager at Microsoft. Between 2005 and early 2007, he led the Microsoft Dynamics product planning and Office Live program management team, alongwith, helping develop business strategy to build a web and mobile based business targeted towards Indian small businesses. Ritesh Banglani was Vice President at IDG Ventures India, where he focused on early stage investments in internet, mobile and digital media businesses. He was a Director on the board of Ozone Media, and an observer on the board of Kreeda Games at IDG Ventures India.
Helion will continue to have a strong tech-focus and the rest of the team currently consists of: Alok Goyal - former COO, SAP India; Gangadharan Kumar - who headed key initiatives at Google that focussed on emerging market and Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan – former COO, Persistent Systems alongside the founding team Ashish Gupta and Sanjeev Aggarwal.
